Ginki

Private Collection, 2012

GinKi, or the “silver tree” in Japanese, embodies the essence of an ideal and eternal tree. Its name reflects its silver-like appearance, evoking an aura of mystique and beauty. From its roots, it delicately stretches towards the sky, as if yearning to reconnect with the eternity it was once torn from.

At first glance, GinKi’s form may seem too perfect to be true, with its gracefully arching branches and flawless silver cortex. However, upon closer inspection, one discovers the hidden charm of its unique imperfections. The silver cortex reveals delicate patterns and textures, reminiscent of the tree’s journey through time and elements. Each branch narrates a story of resilience, bearing the marks of past storms and seasons.
